This wiki was created by Alex and Taku, for our Balloon Car Project!! In this project, we were expected to design and build a car powered by a balloon that minimize backward force and increases the forward force. After testing our cars reaching 5 meters, we calculated the speed of the car using a formula; Distance / Time = Speed.
And.. Here's ourPiece of @$%@
Our car was designed to reduce its weigh and complication. So, of course, it was made lightly and simply. The body was made from a box of tissue, and we cut them and taped them altogether. We taped with duct-tape so it was finished strongly. After that, we made the wheels and axles. The wheels were made from CDs, and axles were made from plastic straw. To put them together, it was little bit hard. The hard surface of straw did not fit to the flat CD. To avoid complication, we cut the straws from inside by scissors, and open the hole, so it'll looked like a flower, and then interlaced it with the CD's hole, and finally duct-taped them altogether from the outside. After we have made the wheel and axle, we needed connection between them that would allow the wheels to roll smoothly. The big straws worked perfectly. We just needed to tape over to the body. However, at this point, the wheel moved right to left causing a change in its direction. So, as you see in the picture above, we put pieces of paper on the axle. Finally, the balloon: The purpose of the car was simplicity so we only used one balloon. Despite this, the car worked really well at the testing and the car reached 5 m successfully.
